Have you ever felt “it was good if the battery lasted for more time”? This happens when we travel and don’t worry, we have a solution for it. Not only while traveling but it will be useful in many ways. Modern Windows PC’s are much advanced regarding a battery that they come up with battery spans. We can choose our battery plan depending on our use, and we can efficiently increase the life of a battery by learning some simple tips.
Extend Windows 10 Battery Life
We can find battery settings in Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Usually, Windows 8 has 3 different plans for battery saving
- Dimming the display
- Turn off the display
- Put the Computer to sleep
The first two options “dimming the display” and “turning off the display” are almost the same. These two options will be activated when the PC is in “idle” mode for a longer time. We can easily change the settings as per our requirements.
For example, if we are reading an E-book and we don’t want the PC to be disturbing us by dimming the display or turning off the display, we can just go to the options in battery plan and change the settings as required.
Sleep Mode: Many people are unaware of what Sleep mode is, and they don’t use it often. It makes the PC / Laptop to preserve its state in memory. It uses a very little bit of battery power to preserve the state. We can go into sleep mode in seconds and come out of it in no time. It is very convenient for people who move from one class to the other or people who move from one meeting to the Another. This mode is more useful when you are going out for a short period, say for some hours or so then just keep the machine In Sleep mode, Switching off it is not necessary.
Brightness: This plays a crucial role in extending battery life. We saw the laptops with full brightness drains the battery 20% faster than the laptop having medium brightness. So, increase brightness only if any app/game demands.
The above screenshot shows laptop having minimum brightness and its better battery life.
