To begin with, the first thing that you can try is to disable and enable the network adapter. Restart the adapter if it doesn’t work then move on to the other troubleshooting methods.

Step 1: Launch the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows icon key+ R together. Type ncpa.pl and hit the Enter key.

Step 2: Now right click on your network adapter. Then select Disable.

Step 3: Next enable the Network Adapter again. For this right click on it and then choose Enable.

Step 2: Now on the left pane, click on Change Adapter settings.

Step 3: On the right pane, right- click on the Wi-Fi adapter of your system. Select Properties and then click on Configure.

Step 4: Click on Power Management > Untick the box > allow the computer to turn off this device.

Step 5: Click on Ok.

Method 3- Turn Off Wi-Fi Sense to Fix Computer Disconnecting from Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi Sense is a feature that was introduced for Windows 10, which helps you to connect to Wi-Fi networks easily and at a faster rate. So by disabling this feature, you can resolve the issue.

Step 1: Open the Settings of your System, by clicking on Start> Settings.

Step 2: Then click on Network and Internet. Next, on the left pane, click on Wi-Fi.

Step 3: Now on the right side you will observe the option Manage Wi-Fi Settings. Click on it.

Step 4: Here disable these two settings-

  • Connect to networks shared by my friends
  • Connect to suggested open hotspots

Now Wi-Fi sense won’t be connecting to other open Wi-Fi networks or the previously connected network.

Method 4- Update the Network Adapter Driver

After the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, most of the errors that have been reported are due to faulty or outdated drivers. And so the last method that you can try is to update your network adapter driver as it might happen that due to an incompatible driver you are facing the issue.

Step 1: Press Windows key and X at the same time. Then click on Device Manager.

Step 2: Here locate Network Adapters in the list and click on it to expand it.

Step 3: Here right click on the wireless network adapter driver. Then choose Update Driver.

Step 4: In the next window, click on the Search automatically for updated driver software option.

Step 5: Windows will find the compatible driver for you. But if you get the message saying that Windows has the best driver for this device has already been installed.

In such case, you will have to download and install the attest compatible drivers by yourself. In case you do not want to get yourself in the whole process. Then you can take help from tools like Driver Easy or Driver Talent. These tools analyze your system and let you know the driver that needs to be updated. If updating the software tool doesn’t help then you can also roll back to the previous Network Adapter driver and try fixing the issue.

We hope that these methods would help you fix the Wi-Fi disconnecting issue. If there are any other doubts or issues the share it with us in the comment section.
