Fix GWXUX has stopped working in Windows 10

Windows 10 includes many new services and tools that make your Windows 10 faster and secure. GWXUX.exe is part of the Windows 10 Update Program and can be set up through an automatic Windows Update called KB3035583. This upgrade can be uninstalled from the Windows Updates list through Control Panel.

There’s also an official Microsoft thread about the GWXUX issue. You also have the option of running the troubleshooter if you would like to maintain the GWXUX (upgrade).

Technically, its purpose is to ensure a smooth upgrade to Windows 10. More importantly, this applies to all Windows 8 and 7 clients provided that their version is official and correctly activated.

But many users are facing GWXUX has stopped working issue suddenly when they start Windows. Read the below solutions and solve this error.

Fix GWXUX has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop functioning properly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a remedy is available. The only thing available in this conversation is to close the program. Considering that the above event is persistent, it soon becomes a nuisance that the users want to stop.

GWXUX is truly a part of the regular added by Microsoft to the Task Scheduler, which clarifies its own persistence. Microsoft has supplied useful recommendations for people who are reluctant to keep seeing the GWX icon: they advise concealing the notifications.

This is a temporary measure because it all comes back the next time the PC is started up. Overall, the perfect course of action in the event you’re having issues with GWXUX.exe would be to eliminate the respective upgrade.

Fix 1: Remove the update

When you install Windows Update KB3035583, GWXUX.EXE program automatically installed.

Do a System Restore if you have created backup earlier.

Navigate to Control panel > Uninstall the Windows update.

Restart PC.

Fix 2: Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

Open Settings and then search for troubleshooting.
