Import password into Chrome
As we all know that earlier versions of Chrome enabled us to import passwords from CSV using a flag. One could navigate to the flag page and then enable the PasswordImport flag.
But this option is not available anymore into newer versions of Chrome. Therefore, the users now wonder how to import passwords from the CSV file. Well here’s a solution as given below that can work out pretty well for Mac OS as well.
Step 1: Open the Chrome browser and enter chrome://settings/passwords in the address bar. Hit Enter to open the passwords page.
Step 2: Click on three vertical dots in the Saved Passwords section. Navigate to the Export Password option.
Step 3: Right-click on this option and then hit the Inspect option.
Step 4: It will open the console option on the right side. Look for the selected area in the resulting console.
Step 5: Select the Hidden text here by double-clicking it. Delete the Hidden text and then tap Enter. You have just enabled the hidden import option.
Step 6: You may now close the console.
Step 7: In the Saved Password section, tap on three vertical dots to see the Import option. Tap on Import option to get Open dialogue.
Step 8: Select the CSV file you want to import and then tap the open button to import passwords into Chrome.
Before processing these methods, there is one thing you need to know regarding Chrome passwords. The Chrome passwords in the CSV files are given as plain text. Therefore, one should never leave them into one’s computer. In this way, you may allow a security threat to your passwords.
Import password in Chrome
There is yet another method that can be used to import passwords in Chrome. Let’s see how to do it.
Step 1: First of all create a Chrome shortcut on your system desktop. Search for Chrome using Start > Taskbar search and then right-click on it. Tap the Open file location.
Step 2: Right-click on Chrome shortcut and select Send to. Then desktop to create a shortcut on the desktop.
Step 3: Right-click on the shortcut just created and then choose Properties to open the Properties window.
Step 4: Under the Shortcut tab, enter the following parameters at the end of the current Target path and then click Apply.
Step 5: Click Continue when asked. Open the Chrome browser now.
Step 6: Open the password page by typing chrome://settings/passwords in the address bar. Tap Enter.
Step 7: In the Saved Password section, tap on three vertical dots to get the Import option.
Step 8: Select the CSV file and then tap the Open button to import the password.
Passwords are sometimes required to be downloaded. Whenever a user tries to change his laptop/desktop or changing the operating system.
