How do I fix Steam not opening on Windows 10?

You have to follow some steps to fix steam issues. It is very easy to fix the issue.

Method 1 – Update the Drivers for your Video Card

An old or corrupted driver can lead to the Windows 10 steam crash, and so probably by updating the video card driver, you can resolve it. You can either download it from the manufacturer’s website, or you can take help from Driver Easy and install it.

Step 1: Download the Driver Easy program. Install it on your system. http://www.drivereasy.com/DriverEasy_Setup.exe

Step 2: Now run the program and scan the system by clicking on the Scan Now option. Your Video card driver will also be displayed in the list of drivers that need to be installed or updated.

Step 3: If you are using the Free Version of Driver Easy, then all the latest drivers that you can install will be displayed. So click on the Update option of the video card driver of your systems like Intel or NVIDIA. That’s it. Now reboot your system to apply the changes and check if the steam games work or not.

Method 2 – Update your Windows 10

The second thing that you should check is that your Windows operating system is up-to-date. To ensure that your system is working properly, it is important that it is running on the latest version of Windows. So check for any pending updates for your Windows.

Step 1: Open Start > Update > Check for Updates.

Step 2: Install all the available updates and Reboot PC.

Method 3 – Verify the Cache Files of your Game

Step 1: Reboot PC and open Steam.

Step 2: Right-click on the game > Properties.

Step 3: Click on Local files > choose Verify Integrity.

Close window > reboot your system.

Method 4 – Close the Unnecessary Programs

There are chances that the programs running on your system might be interfering with the performance of Steam. And so close all the unnecessary programs. Reboot the device and check if you can now play games on Steam now.

Method 5 – Correct Your Time Zone

Since Steam collects the real-time data from your system, and tamper with the time zone would lead to Windows 10 steam crash. So to resolve the issue, follow these steps-

Step 1: Control Panel > click on Date and Time.

Step 2: Click on the Internet Time > select Change Settings.

Step 3: Your Time Synchronize with the Internet time server option. Check it and click on Update Now.

Step 4: Press ok > restart Steam.
