To fix MS Teams that keeps reinstalling itself, you will need to uninstall both Microsoft Teams and Teams Machine-Wide Installer simultaneously. There are two ways to do this.

Through Apps & features

Step 1: Access the Apps & features on your computer.

Step 2: In the search box for Apps & features list, type in “Teams.”

Step 3: The search will display both Microsoft Teams and the Teams Machine-Wide Installer.

Step 4: Uninstall both.

Step 5: Restart the computer. (Optional)

Through Control Panel

Step 1: Access the Control Panel on your computer and go to Programs.

Step 2: Choose Uninstall a Program.

Step 3: In the search box type in “Teams.”

Step 4: The search result will show both Microsoft Teams and Teams Machine-Wide Installer.

Step 5: Now, uninstall both programs. Reboot your PC.

NOTE: Microsoft Teams will be automatically removed if you uninstall Office. If Office is, however, reinstalled or online repair of Office is performed, Microsoft Teams will be included.

Fix MS Teams keeps reinstalling itself

MS Teams is a part of Microsoft Office 365 suits provided by Microsoft. To fix the Microsoft Teams issue, you need to know that there are two programs to be removed: Microsoft Teams and Teams Machine-Wide Installer. There are three ways below:

Uninstall Office 365 from Control Panel

You may choose to uninstall Office and then reinstall without Teams:

  • Right-click on Microsoft Office from your applications.
  • Select the uninstall option.

You may have to access the Control Panel as well:

  • Go to programs and features from the control panel and choose “uninstall a program“.
  • Search for any programs with the word “Teams” and uninstall such programs.

In case you aren’t able to work your way out just by uninstalling the software, follow the below troubleshooting steps.

  • Open the settings page of the Teams app and uncheck the “Auto-start application” option.

  • Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) on your computer and disable the application from the startup tab

  • Check your Microsoft account type. If it is a work account, forced installation may be in place. Instead, switch to a personal account.
