Windows 10 Airplane Mode On or Off Errors and Solutions

You can enjoy the Airplane mode in Windows 10 just like the previous versions. With this useful feature, you can enter the Airplane mode and in turn put a halt to the incoming wireless signals through Bluetooth, WLAN, and the Internet. Windows Airplane Mode in laptop works just like in a smartphone to control receiving the wireless signals. But this feature is also not free from errors. After the Windows 10 upgrade or the windows 10 Anniversary update, the users are facing various Airplane mode errors. Some related errors are Windows 10 airplane mode keeps turning on, or Windows 10 airplane mode stuck on, or the Windows 10 airplane mode turns on by itself. So today we are sharing the top effective fixes for Windows 10 Airplane Mode on and off errors.

What is Airplane Mode?

With the Airplane Mode function, you get the control to turn off all the wireless communications of your device as quickly as possible. And as the name implies, the Airplane mode is suitable mostly when you are boarding a flight. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular (mobile broadband), NFC (near field communication) and GPS all come under the Wireless communications. But sometimes the Airplane mode gets stuck or face enabling or disabling issues. Though this issue is not that grave, it can take place in different ways.

It might happen that you cannot turn off the airplane mode, due to the disappearance of the toggle or the indication of unavailability of function by the toggle. Also sometimes after you want to discontinue the Airplane mode, you might face problem in turning on the wireless connections. The other times the Airplane mode will turn on automatically, turning of the other wireless connections.

Fix Airplane Node On or Off Errors?

Since the problems related to Airplane mode are different, we have tried to provide you with different ways to troubleshoot these errors.

Method 1- Modify the Network adapter Settings to Fix Airplane Mode Error

Step 1: Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start option. Then choose Device Manager.

Step 2: Locate Network Adapter on the list. Expand the option by clicking on the arrow or double-clicking on it.

Step 3: From the list of modems displayed, choose your wireless modem. Right click on it and choose Properties.

Step 4: In the Properties window, click on the Power Management tab. Then uncheck the box against the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.

Step 5: Click on Ok.

Check if the Airplane mode issue persists or not.

Method 2- Disable or Enable the Network Connection

Step 1: Open the Settings of your system. Then click on the Network and Internet category.

Step 2: On the left side pane, the Wi-Fi option will be displayed. In the Wi-Fi category, turn your attention to the right side and click on the Change Adapter options link.

Step 3: Then in a Windows pop-up you will see your Wireless connection. Right click on it and choose the Disable option.

Step 4: This will enable the Wireless connection. Then again repeat the same process. Right click on the Wireless connection and this time choose Enable option.

After this, your wireless connection will work properly. Your Windows 10 Airplane Mode keeps turning on the issue will resolve.

Method 3- Turn off Non-Microsoft Services

Step 1: Press Windows key+ R > msconfig.msc > Enter.

Step 2:  In the Service tab > mark “Hide all Microsoft services”.

Step 3: Follow these steps: Disable All > Apply > Open Task Manager > Startup tab.

Step 4: Disable all the Startup items.

Reboot system and re-enable all the services. This will fix the Airplane Mode Related Errors.

Method 4- Update the Network Driver via Device Manager

Step 1: Open Device Manager > Expand the Network Adapter.

Step 2: Locate your wireless adapter > right click > Update Driver software.

Step 3: Search automatically for updated driver software or if you have driver file then you can browse to that file and the system will automatically install the driver.

Step 4: Windows system will download or load all the required driver files.

Close the window when the driver installation message displayed.
